The Sheboygan Area Society for Human Resource Management is comprised of over 150 professional responsible for human resource administration and industrial relations. The group is comprised of individuals representing business and industry in Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Ozaukee Counties. Membership in this chapter is limited to those professional who are engaged in human resource management and represent both private and public sector employment. The chapter has three categories of membership:
Professional Member – Individuals actively engaged in bona fide human resource function (s). National SHRM membership is encouraged. Professional member shall have voting rights and may hold office.
Consultant Member – Individuals who are actively engaged in advising, teaching or providing a human resource service or product. Membership shall be limited to consultant, attorneys, faculty members and suppliers. National SHRM membership is required. Consultant members shall have voting rights and may hold office.
Associate Member – Individuals who do not meet the professional or consultant member requirements but have a bona fide interest in human resource management. Membership may include students, retired human resource professionals, employed or non-employed persons. Associate members shall have voting rights, but shall not hold office.
Student Members - Individuals who are (a) enrolled either as full-time or part-time students, at freshman standing or higher; (b) enrolled in the equivalent of at least six (6) credit hours; (c) enrolled in a four-year or graduate institution and/or a consortium of these or a two-year community college with a matriculation agreement between it and a four-year college or university wbich provides for automatic acceptance of the community college students into the four-year college or university; (d) able to provide verification of a demonstrated emphasis in human resource management subjects, and (e) able to provide verification of the college or university's human resources or related degree program. Student members may not vote or hold office in the Chapter
Annual Dues
SA-SHRM works on a calendar year for all members. Renewals will take place in December of every year.
National SHRM Member - $60.00
Non-National SHRM Member - $75.00
Student Members - FREE MEMBERSHIP (you are responsible for the meeting fees)
If you do not submit payment for your annual dues by March 31, you will be requested to re-apply for membership.
Meetings
Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month beginning in September and concluding in June. The Board of Directors under the guidance of the Program Committee coordinates meeting and speaker activities relative to applicable and timely subject content. Meeting are typically held in the morning, and breakfast is served.
